Fountain House Gallery & Studio is pleased to offer artist residencies, pop-up exhibitions, and other programs as part of Governors Island's historic Organization in Residence program.

How to Get There

We are located on Colonels Row in House 410a. Once you get off the Manhattan ferry at Soissons Landing, make a right, walk past Castle Williams and follow the path until you reach the row of houses. We are first on the left!Subway: take the 1 to South Ferry, 4/5 to Bowling Green, or R/W to Whitehall Street. Walk to the Governors Island Ferry at 10 South Street, Slip 7.

About the Program

Dur­ing the spring, sum­mer and ear­ly fall months, over two dozen arts, cul­ture and edu­ca­tion orga­ni­za­tions uti­lize space inside Gov­er­nors Island’s his­toric for­mer mil­i­tary hous­es through Gov­er­nors Island Arts’ annu­al Orga­ni­za­tions in Res­i­dence pro­gram — pre­sent­ing exhi­bi­tions, hold­ing free pub­lic pro­grams and host­ing artist res­i­den­cies.

Fountain House Gallery & Studio will also present a series of outdoor installations and public programming, including: YELL! Immersive Outdoor Installation; im kinda body conscious?; and a pop-up exhibition in honor of Gun Violence Awareness Day (June 2, 2023).
